Counseling Support

Through collaborative professional counseling services and supportive peer-led group sessions, LS Genesis strives to de-stigmatize mental health struggles that often permeate groups we serve like teens in the foster system or trauma survivors. We understand some residents have suffered bullying, rejection and discrimination feeling alone in this world – with no one to trust vulnerabilities with much less healthy coping tools. We also recognize seemingly insurmountable emotional turmoil, anxiety attacks, depressive episodes or explosive flare-ups make progressing through a vulnerable transitional period intensely trying. Once onsite, licensed counselors provide judgment-free talk-therapy for proactively improving deteriorating outlooks before crises. Peer support groups led by our compassionate staff, case workers and adult role models who’ve “been there” create non-threatening reflective spaces sharing advice for effectively self-soothing when triggered. Through this network of licensed mental healthcare professionals, caring mentors and friends enduring similar crossroads– we promote breaking stigmatized silence.
